Sometimes it’s better when nobody is looking. What was started as a skunk project within the Equipment Design and Developments teams,  ended up being a premium and carefully crafted recreation of some early icons of The North Face Heritage. No one had asked for it and few supported it at the start but when I saw the first protos I became an instant advocate and helped in any way I could. I consulted on the product choices with designers and development, helped art direct labels and logo treatments and later championed this project as the compelling result of giving design the trust and resources needed to execute a vision. The marketing assets also reflect our directional focus on letting the details and innate beauty of our products speak for themselves. We also felt it was important to capture the human side of our partnership with the craftspeople at the Chicago factory to help communicate the tradition of hand built, American made product with a legit story.

Don’t call it a comeback.
